monto.... it is down bellinis (London Rd)... hell hole of a place nowadays... last three times down there seen massive punch ups... one being the amateur bouncer that I am had to get in to stop some bloke getting his brains kicked out of his head whilst it was stuck on the floor by the bar... shame as it used to be a decent night in there

Canvey is a lot nicer than people give it credit for and the Labworth Restaurant overlooking the estuary takes some beating.

Used to go clubbing down Churchills alot back in the day, It is now a restaurant, Quite a nice one too, I sometimes go with my wife and whilst tucking into a juicy burger I gaze over to the bar area and think of the time I fingered some fitty by it in the mid 2000's. Happy days.

Leigh-on-sea. Memories.
The unmistaken glorious smell of the Thames estuary
The Cockles sheds and the vinegar and the pepper.
The Peter boat on a Sunday lunchtime with me old Dad followed by a leisurely stroll to Chalkwall.
Lovely old Essex memories.

I've lived in Leigh for 12 years now and couldn't agree more with the content of the article. The title is a little dramatic. I used to live off the Broadway which at the time I thought was great. Near to all the pubs and restaurants. After about a year, and the twelfth time of asking some pissed yobs to fuck off out of my front garden as they were having a piss after the pub and not having anywhere to park in my own road I moved down the other end towards Hadleigh Castle. I don't go out in Leigh very often as it is everything as described, but Old Leigh is ok in the winter.

Great for a day out near the mud. Not sure about living there.
